Clubs in Action PDF Print E-mail

Clubs have undertaken a variety of programmes during July & August. Some of the projects maybe very BIG and some maybe SMALL, all in accordance of the need of the Community in any particular area.

The monthly reporting has been 90% and almost 50% of them have been electronically through the website. The saving of paper, printing and postageis allowing clubs to save more for community service and also to Preserve Planet Earth.

Many Clubs are planning matching grants projects on a big scale. PDG Rtn. Rajendra Doshi is the DRFC and Rtn. Durgesh Haritay is the DCC for Matching Grants Projects and bothe of them are constantly helping Clubs in finding Matching Grants Partners around the world.

 

 

1. ANKOLA: Dental checkup camp held at adopted school in which 100 students benefited. Distributed tooth brush, tooth oaste and concession coupons for treatment to needy child. Conducted yoga classes for citizens.
2. ATHANI: Vanamahotsav celebrated in the presence of Minister by planting 200 saplings. Diabetes, BP & Eye checkup camp organized. 300 patients benefited.
3. BAGALKOT: Adopted 6 girl children for education.Distribution of unforms to sixty poor children.Celebrated World Population Day.
Belgaum MT4. BELGAUM MT: Distributed note books to 250 girl students of adopted school. Arranged Vanamahostav and planted medicinal & herbal plants. Installed Interact club. Organized Breast Cancer Detection Camp  in association with local Rotary clubs.
5. BELGAUM NORTH: Organized breast detection camp in association with Rotary Pariwar of Belgaum.
6. BELGAUM SOUTH: Held a guest lecture on Future trends in stock market and beyond. Organized breast detection camp jointly with all Rotary clubs in Belgaum in which 68 patients benefited. Distributed food items to 100 blind students of Maheshwari Blind school, Belgaum.
7. BELGAUM: Foundation stone of Rotary garden laid at Rotary Corporation Sports Academy premises. Adopted 10 school going girls. Distributed Rs. 16,000 worth uniforms, notebooks, shoes and other educational aid to poor & needy girls. Taken up surgical camp for people below poverty line.
8. Belur DharwadBELUR DHARWAD: Farmer’s day & Doctor’s day celebrated by felicitating professionals who excelled in their respective professions.
9. BHATKAL: Felicitated meritorious SSLC students. Contributed Rs.10,000 towards Polio Challenge Grants.
10. BICHOLIM: Adopted Govt. Primary School & distributed 200 notebooks. Donated 20 GI pipes for School use. Tree plantation arranged. Yoga & Meditation camp organized for public. Two girl children adopted. Organized Trekking Expedition to create environmental awareness.
11. BIJAPUR MONUMENTAL CITY: Organized Opthalmic, Orthopaedic & Dental checkup and general health camp at Muttagi. 65 patients took the benefit. Installed RCC club. Organized tree plantatation by planting 30 saplings. Adopted 5 girl children and donated uniform & educational materials. Held Breast cancer detection camp in which mammography was done on 26 patients.
12. BIJAPUR NORTH: Provided 25 coconut saplings for plantation in blind school. Undertook tree plantation.Conducted specialized health check up camp in Indian medicine in which 37 patients took benefit. Conducted career guidance and entrepreneurship development for unemployed youth in association with RUDESTI Bijapur.
13. BIJAPUR: Conducted Health checkup camp at Blind school.
14. CHIKODI: Free eye check up undertaken. Tree Plantation in various locations.Particiapted in Breast Cancer Detection Programme.
15. CHIPLUN: Organized tree plantation. Scholarships given to meritorious students. Free dental checkup camp held.
16. CURCHOREM- SANVORDEM: Meritorious students felicitated. 2 new members inducted. Donated 2 cupboards & sports materials worth Rs. 15000. Organized Diabetes detection camp in which 108 patients were examined. Girl child adopted and Rs. 5000 was given assistance. Conducted fellowship activities for club members. Installed Interact club.
Dharwad Central17. DHARWAD CENTRAL: Doctor’s Day & Farmer’s Day celebrated. Adopted two girl      children   for providing educational assistance.  Undertaken tree plantation & pollution control project jointly with old students association. 100 trees planted. BMD Health checkup camp arranged. Installed Interact club.
18. DHARWAD MT: Distributed 200 note books, ball pens and 100 journals to school children.
19. DHARWAD: Welcomed Red Ribbon Express. Arranged a street play on AIDS in association with government department.
20. GADAG BETGERI: Organized blood donation camp. Cataract Surgery camp undertaken. Tree plantation programme organized.
21. GADAG CENTRAL: Undertook tree plantation programme in Rotary School premises. Presented awards to best handicapped teacher and health worker.Organised computer education and DTP programme for physically challenged youth..
22. GADHINGLAJ: Celebrated World Population Day by arranging a rally in which 95 members attended. Treated 50 patients with Ayurvedic medicines.
23. GARGIS KOLHAPUR: Held a lecture on Skin Care  A seminar on Matrusuraksha Din was conducted and precautionary steps to   be taken during pregnancy was given.
24. GOKAK: Organized medical checkup camp in which 100 patients were examined & given free drugs. Conducted breast cancer detection camp through ROKO. 33 patients were screened.
25. HONNAVAR: Installed Rotaract & Interact clubs. Distributed scholarships to four students. Honored a student for winning district level prize in 4 way test.
26. HUBLI MT: Sponsored Rs. 1000 each to four girl children under girl child education project. Donated Rs. 2000 to meritorious college student. Served lunch to 75 inmates of home for destitute. Probus club installed. 
27. HUBLI NORTH: Distributed note books to poor & needy school children. Organized Tree plantation by planting 30 saplings. Adopted girl child to provide educational assistance.
28. HUBLI SOUTH: Installed Interact club. Distributed books & stationeries worth Rs. 3000 to poor students. Provided water tank to a high school under safe drinking water project. 350 people were tested for eye defects in the mega eye check up camp.
29. HUBLI VIDYANAGAR: Arranged talk on Right to Information Act.
30. HUBLI: Organized talk on Make Dreams Real by Hamsananad Swamiji of Chinmaya Mission. Arranged a programme on Rainwater Harvesting in urban areas.Arranaged a talk by T.K.Tenpa Speaker of Local Tibetian Assembly.
31. HUKKERI: Held a seminar to create awareness on eye donation and identified 50 donors. Arranged dinner meeting for Rotary families.
32. HupariHUPARI: Provided medical assistance to  300  warkaris on pilgrimage to Pandharpur by arranging mobile medical dispensary. Celebrated Gurupoornima by felicitating teachers. A big gathering of 200 Laughter club members & 25 Rotarians was arranged.
33. ICHALAKARANJI CENTRAL: Adopted 80 poor students for providing support to continue education.Distributed school uniforms to ten poor students.Provided Rs.8000 as educational scholarship for poor girl student to continue education.Conducted 5days RYLA for 53 students.Adopted 40 gilrs for educational support.Organised meetings with RCCs to discuss on health,cleanliness and water pollution.Hosted Dist.Interact Leadership Forum.Formed Anns Committee of club to organize home made fellowship.
34. ICHALAKARANJI HERITAGE: Participated in Balasamskar Shibira.Provided educational support to poor children of slums.Organising Rotaract.
35. ICHALKARANJI: Installed Rotaract, Interact & Probus clubs. Conducted yoga & meditation camp for police personnel. 20 different varieties of trees planted. Gurupoornima celebrated.  125 people attended a workshop on Mind Power.  Workshop on Fashion designing attended by 25 ladies. Inaugurated Matching Grant Project for providing safe drinking water to 30 schools.. Arranged Rain water harvesting program. Note books distributed to 3 schools. Treated 5200 patients through  various health care projects conducted by the club.  Adopted 3 schools. Started free Homeopathic clinic . Distributed free bus passes to poor students.
36. JAMAKHANDI: organized Interact Leadership Programme CHIGURU 2008 in which 250 interactors, 25 outside Rotarians & 18 teachers participated. Celebrated Guru Poornima and world environment day. Organized a guest lecture on Importance of eye donation. Received Highest attendance award at Environmental seminar held at Ponda, Goa.
37. JAYSINGPUR: Career guidance seminar held on Shipping & Logistic Diploma held jointly with Raigad Chamber of Commerce. 200 students benefited. Mats distributed to poor residents of Shirala. Blood donation camp arranged & collected 150 units of blood. 41 members attended trekking programme by covering a distance of 27kms from Panhala to Pawankhind.
38. KALYAN NAGAR SINDAGI: Felicitated senior journalist.  Organized Cardiac checkup camp benefiting 147 patients. Trees planted in Municipal garden. Arranged debate competition for school children. Inducted 3 new members.
39. KARVEER KOLHAPUR: Felicitated students of 10th & 12th standard scoring more than 70%. Set into motion TRF raffle fund collection drive for club members.
40. KARWAR: Held talk on Higher Education in India. Arranged free interactive coaching for 70 candidates appearing for SBI clerical exams. Senior Rotarians & Minister felicitated.  Distributed food items for mid day meal program to Govt. High school. Adopted 7 poor girls for education. Provided school bags & study materials. Free blood grouping camp. Vanamahotsav celebrated by planting 251 saplings. Coconut saplings given free to villagers.  12 new members inducted.
41. KHED: Felicitated meritorious students during installation ceremony. Celebrated charter day of the club. Adopted 4 school children.
42. KOLHAPUR CENTRAL: Installed interact & RCC clubs. Donated Bedsheets, slates and Pencil boxes to students of Swavam school. Adopted 5 girl children for providing education. Conducted Ann’s meeting.
Kolhapur Heritage43. KOLHAPUR HERITAGE: Donated Infant Baby Warmer under project COCOON to Govt. Civil hospital, Kolhapur by mobilizing voluntary donations from members.
44. KOLHAPUR MIDTOWN: Installed Interact, Rotaract clubs. Arranged guest lectures. Celebrated Gurupoornima and organized tree plantation at Shivaji University. Organized Cancer awareness program in which 400 students interacted with Rtn. Dr. Suraj Pawar. Started mammography breast cancer detection camp. PDG Dr. Rekha Shetty donated Jaipur Foot to a beneficiary.
45. KOLHAPUR SUNRISE: Arranged fellowship activities. Conducted New Member Orientation programme. Guest lecture arranged for 10th std. students. Celebrated World Population Day. Felicitated meritorious students. Girl children adopted. Distriuted 15 Rescue kits to Police & NCC cadets. Started new Rotaract club at KIT college of Engineering. Started new RCC club named Supriya Mahila Gram Seva Kendra. Installed Interact club.
46. KOLHAPUR: Arranged a picnic for family membrers at Napane water Falls. Extended financial help to 5 heart patients, 2 school children and adopted a play school exclusively for slum children. Conducted leadership training camp for 120 students of 11th 12th students of Shahaji College, Kolhapur.
47. KUMTA: Distributed writing materials to poor school children. Started new interact club. Zonal officers training seminar (ZOTS) held. Held  guest lecture on Virtual Blood Bank. Honored a merited physically handicapped student. Presented Rotary 4 way Test banner with moral instructions to high school students. Honored Sanskrit scholar. Organized Blood donation camp to collect 18 units.  Given medical assistance for cataract eye operated patients. Conducted free dental check up camp for 160 students. Vanamahostav organized under Save Planet Program.
48. KUNDAGOL: Distributed education materials to school children.
49. KURUNDWAD: Girls of village selected as police officers felicitated. Provided books and statitionery to students.Girlchildren adopted for education.
50. LOTE: Hosted the first Ratnagiri Revenue Dist. TRF meet. Merotorious students felicitated by giving away cash prizes.
51. MALVAN:  Felicitated merited students and people who excelled in their professions.
52. MAPUSA CITY: Distributed note books to students of govt. primary school. 6 cataract surgeries carried out under Matching grant programme.
53. MAPUSA: organized picnic for Rotary family. Installed Rotaract club of Mapusa. Organized Tree plantation at Dist. Hospital.
54. MARGAO MT: Guest speaker on Solar Power.
55. MARGAO: Guest lectures held. Career guidance programme conducted for high school & graduates. Arranged a programme on Road safety.
56. MIRAJ: Provided Hearing Aids to hearing impaired children.Undertook Matching Grant project to provide sanitation blocks to girl students.
57. MIRAJ MT: Blood Donors feliciatated.Lecture on alaternatives to fast food was arranged.A burn child was adopted for education and overall development.
58. MUDHOL: Felicitated Circle Police inspector on receiving President’s gold medal. Honored 8 scout students on receiving award from Governor of Karnataka state.
59. NAREGAL: Conducted programmes for sudents of Rotary school.
60. NARGUND: Organized health checkup camp. Donated educational items to school children.
61. NAVALGUND: Organised Interact and Rotaract clubs. Provided support to children to continue education
62. NAVANAGAR HUBLI: Received Computers for Rotary School under Matching Grants.
63. NIPANI: Sponsored 24 students for coaching of competitive exams. Donated a computer to govt. primary school. 234 women were examined in the Breast cancer detection camp & 62 mammographies done. Fellowship activities conducted. Sponsored 15 Interactors & 3 teachers for Interact leadership Forum. Installed interact Rotakid & Probus clubs. Adopted 9 girl children for education. Felicitated top 3 achievers of 10th & 12th standard students. Adopted govt. primary school, an ongoing project. Charter day celebrated.
64. PANAJI MT: Distributed two Wheel chairs to the needy.& given educational grant to 173 students worth Rs. 3.30 lakhs. Installed interact club. Rtn. Scheffer from germany visited the club. One girl child adopted.
65. PANAJI RIVIERA: Held Annual Tree plantation drive & distributed fruit bearing tree saplings to students. Conducted medical examination of inmates of old age home  by donating Rs. 2300 worth medicines. Provided lunch for inmates of old age home for destitute persons. Girl student adopted and provided boarding, lodging & course fees worth Rs. 40,000. Village adopted. Organized several fellowship activities. Celebrated Charter nite of the club.
66. PanajiPANAJI: Celebrated Occupational Health Day. Held Blood donation camp, Diabetis detection camp & Eye check up camp. 20 Rotary families visited Colobo, Srilanka and exchanged flag with RC Capital city.Installed Interact club. 4  school children and a village adopted. Inducted 6 new members.12 needy students and one girl student given scholarship to pursue higher education. Arranged guest lectures & oraganized tree plantation program.
67. PONDA HT: Arranged guest lectures. Organized tree plantation, blood group detection camp in which 225 students benefited. Installed RCC &  Probus.
68. PONDA: Arranged guest lecture. Organized district Environment Training seminar at Bondla Wild life Sanctuary. Assistance given to a cataract patient. Adopted a Govt. primary school. Arreanged Career guidance  & computer awareness programs.
69. PORVORIM: Felicitated members on their wedding & birthdays,. Tree saplings distributed. Govt. School adopted. Provided books and statitionery to students.Girlchildren adopted for education.
70. RAMTEERTH: Organized dental check up camp in two schools. Conducted seminar on Equity Market. Organized RCC & Probus leadership forums. Felicitated teachers & merited students. 100 trees planted jointly with Interact club. Conducted Rangoli competition.
71. RANEBENNUR: 100 trees planted at Rotary college campus and 50 coconut trees planted at industrial area..142 students participated in the ENT checkup camp. Dental checkup camp attended by 120 students. New Interact club installed. Advice given to 22 pregnant women and distributed free medicines. Adopted a girl child.
72. RANI CHENNAMMA KITTUR: Arranged Rangoli & class decoration competition in Rotary school.
73. RATNAGIRI: Distributed sweets and fruits in Leprosy hospital. Distributed note books and uniforms to high school students.Ruksha Dindi programme organized. Family programme arranged.
74. SANGLI CITY: Distributed note book to poor students. Conducted fellowship activities.
75. SANGLI MT: Hosted fellowship dinner for club members. Donated 27 Jaipur foots, 60 hearing aids & 70 callipers. 15 persons took the benefit of ear checkup camp. Installed Interact club.
76. SANGLI: Hosted District Rotary Academy workshop and TRF level II meeting. Installed hoarding giving details of Rotary activties.
77. SAWANTWADI: Organized Yoga & Pranayam camp. Distributed study materials to students. Adopted school.
78. SHIRODA: Inducted two new members. Vocational awards given. Health checkup camp conducted and De-worming tablets distributed. School uniforms given to needy students.
79. SIRSI: Installed RCC. Conducted seminar on Personality Development & Career guidance. 75 students benefited. 144 patients attended free surgery camp in which 29 patients were operated. 109 patients attended free cataract detection camp. 42 cataract operations performed. Educational study materials distributed.
80. TalikotiTALIKOTI: Donation given to Vidya Poshak for education of the poor. Conducted health checkup camp at Hadaginal village.
81. TASGAON: Felicitated 76 meritorious students. Adopted government primary school. Two girl children adopted for supporting education. 250 students attended career guidance  programme.
82. VASCO DA GAMA: Gave financial assistance to 32 Girls from economically backward families under the project ‘Girl Child Scholarships’
83. VENUGRAM BELGAUM: 80 women benefited in the free cancer checkup camp conducted through ROKO. Celebrated World population day. Adopted 39 students and distributed school uniforms, bags, books & compass boxes. Installed Interact club.
84. VISHRAMBAG: Birthday of club members celebrated by gifting Saplings. A new concept of honoring parents of rotary club members by PDG introduced. Informative lectures on RTI act & consumer movement arranged. Lecture on Wealth through trading Carbon credit arranged.
85. VITA CITY: Felicitated high school teachers on Gurupoornima. Provided internship to 2 medical students in a local clinic.
