DG Rtn. Pranesh Jahagirdar - Rotary Distrcit 3170Dear Dreamers and Achievers,

Warm Greetings from Pranesh and Sandhya.

It has been a great experience visiting clubs and interacting with all the members of the family of Rotary of every club during our official visits. More touching was the way in which every club has thought of doing something for the community around them.

I started my official visits to the clubs from 2nd Aug.2008 from Rotary Club of Gadag Central, the place where I was introduced to Rotary world as a GSE Team member in 1992. Starting from Gadag to Gajendragad the last visit of the month, everywhere we were received with so much of love and affection. We felt, there are no ways by which I and Sandhya can repay back the love and affection showered on us. We could see so much of enthusiasm, involvement, and desire to do good for the community around them. Rotary is growing strong because of the committed and devoted members like you and your team. Every club is contributing its mite   to Make Dreams Real.

September 2008 GML

There is some dissatisfaction amongst Senior Members of any club on the following aspects. The Board of every Club must consider these aspects from time to time in proper perspective  : -

(1) Lot of money is spent on pomp and show, on stationery, on meetings and celebrations. Public are not interested or carry wrong impressions.
(2) The Past Presidents and Senior Members are not involved on a general presumption that they are a disgruntled Lot.
(3) New members do not involve themselves as they feel that they are being treated without proper recognition. They also feel that they have to sacrifice much in their business or professional career especially during their formative period.
(4) There has been a stagnation in the activities of the club. The same old small programmes, ( not Projects ) are carried on  and the President and the Board feel satisfied by their efforts.
(5) The flow of enthusiasm of the Members in General is allowed to dry down.

September is the New Generations month in the Rotary calendar, to promote & publicize RI’s youth programs, as well as the countless humanitarian projects aimed at improving the lives of infants, children & teenagers around the world. Today’s youth, the emerging new generation, is associated with revolutionary thoughts which are sometimes impulsive and even romantic. Parents burden the children with dreams of their own. They would like to see their children in a financially secure position. To many parents, their children are the hope for a decent living. Today’s youth are not being guided properly.
