ROTARY BLOOD BANK : DREAM PROJECT OF ROTARY CENTENARY
CENTENARY DREAM PROJECT OF ROTARY CLUB OF GOKAK Rotary club of Gokak is chartered on 19/12/1969 . Since last 39 years R C Gokak is Serving the mankind of surrounding of Gokak city. It was decided in 2003 to establish Rotary Blood Bank at Gokak as Centenary project. As There was no blood bank within radius of 65 kms. From Gokak head quarter though more than 50 hi tech hospitals are functioning in Gokak. So to over come this problem the project of providing the Rotary Blood Bank was planned by members of Rotary club of Gokak , and Rotary Seva Sangh registered . The average requirement of blood per month was more than 150 units as per survey made during the planning of blood bank . Rtn. Dr. Uday B. Ajari donated nearly 600 sq.mts. of land in the sweet memory of his beloved father late Dr. Baburao C. Ajari who was also an Rotarian. And also he donated Rs. 75000/- cash donation from his 3 sisters. Under the local area development work MLC ‘s and MP’s have donated Rs. 8.5 lacks for construction of Blood bank building.All the equipments have been procured through The Rotary Foundation M.G.No.56691 for Rs.15,57,000/-.Matching club is Farming dale break fast of R.I.Dist.7250 . The total cost of project is Rs. 45,00,000/-.The remaining amount collected through Rotarians , Local doctors , Citizens of Gokak and financial institutions. The Blood bank is functioning from 1/11/2007 and till the end of September, 2008. More Than 1200 units have been collected and issued till now. This project is dedicated to the citizens of surrounding of Gokak as CENTENARY PROJECT.
