RID 3170 Interact Leadership Forum:

The Interact Leadership Forum was hosted by Rotary Club of Belgaum South in Belgaum on Sunday, 7th August 2011 at Dharamnath Bhavan, Nehru Nagar, Belgaum.Chief Guest for this Function was Actor, Director, Producer and Writer of Sandalwood Shri Ramesh Aravind, who has acted in more than 95 Kannada films, 35 Tamil films, some Malyalam and Telugu films and 2 Hindi films.

Rotary Anne's of Belgaum South welcomed the Chief Guest in a traditional way.  DG Avinash Potdar on behalf of RID 3170 Honored Shri Ramesh Aravind as a "YOUNG ACHIEVER" of the year.  First Lady Anne Rupa was present on the occasion.

DG Avinash Potdar was honored by Trustees of Manickbag Jain Boarding on being a District Governor from Belgaum.Over 950 Interactors from Karnataka and Maharashtra attended this event along with Interact teachers and Rotarians of their sponsor Clubs. The Interactors of Goa could not attend this event due to their examinations. The total registration including Interact teachers and Rotarians was around 1050.Host President Satish Kulkarni welcomed the gathering and Event Chairman Sudhir Katti gave the purpose of the meet.

President Satish Kulkarni introduced the Chief guest, Interactor Laxmi Kittur introduced DG Avinash Potdar and Interactor Soubhagya Chulki introduces DIR Sadhavi Varagiri.

The Inaugural session began with an invocation song by Interactors of Balika Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Belgaum.  DG Avinash Potdar installed District Inteact Representative Ms. Sadhavi Varagiri of M.V. Herwadkar High School, Belgaum and her team.  DIR Sadhavi Varagiri released her theme for the year "SERVE THE COMMUNITY, THE COMMUNITY SERVES" and appealed to every Interactor to serve the community with sincerity.  District Governor Avinash Potdar assured the Interactors that the Rotary Clubs will take extra efforts in supporting the Interact movement in our District in the current year.  DIR. Soumya Hanasoge of RID 3180 of Mysore congratulated DIR Sadhavi and shared her thoughts about Interact with the Interactors.  DGE Jorson Fernandes gave a talk on how to make the best of the opportunity available to the Interactor and every Interactor present appreciated his words of wisdom and advice. Chief Guest Shri Ramesh Aravind in his address said that the secret of success is to focus on one thing at one time.  He advised the Interactors not to mix up too many things at one time.  Guest Speaker Rtn. Arvind Kulkarni told the Interactors the importance of being intelligent in today's times and how Interact can help them in moving ahead in life.  Another Guest Speaker Dr. R.N. Joshi gave a wonderful talk on personality development quoting examples from our mythological epics and how negative thoughts can be converted into positive actions.

Rtn. Sandeep Nair, Principal of Jain College, Belgaum and Rtn. Sanjeev Kulkarni, District Interact Committee Chairman was honored at the hands of the Chief Guest Shri Ramesh Aravind for supporting this event.

The Leadership Forum began at 10 am and ended by 2 pm.  Host Club provided Interactors with gift hampers containing Interact Pin, Pad, Pen, Cotton bag, Dharwad Pedhas etc.

The highest registration came from Interact Club of Ranebennur outside Belgaum and Ushatai Gogte High School from Belgaum.
Organizing Secretary Durgesh Haritay proposed a Vote of thanks.
